This web page is a a way to share the creative spirit of Eileen Desterno. She’s still learning about web stuff and just loaded a new ‘theme’ but there’s a lot of work to be done.
Eileen Desterno is an artist living in Columbus, Georgia.
Born in NYC and raised in western NY, her life has included wearing a number of hats, including (but not limited to) Educator, Medical Illustrator, Graphic Designer, Technical Illustrator, Art Glass Studio Technician, Vocalist, Lyricist, Mentor, Sociotherapist, Dance Instructor, Public Speaker, and Actress.
She has an MFA in Medical Illustration from RIT, and a BS in Biology and Dance from SUNY Brockport, NY. Public sculptural works include three 12’ dancing cows in the Atlanta Cow Parade (Kudzudora DunCOWn & The MOOlyweds) and two 6’ whooping cranes for ‘Street Scenes’ in Waynesville, NC.
She has exhibited in Atlanta, GA; Columbus, GA; Boca Raton, FL; Denver, CO, and Rochester, NY, and is currently working on a bust of James Varick, founder of the AME Zion Church; also, a life size bronze sculpture of Gertrude “Ma” Rainey, Mother of the Blues, ( in addition to adding to her songwriting repertoire. ) www.myspace.com/globalheart
